I am flying on a budget airline from England to Portugal. The airline is incredibly inexpensive, so I don’t have high expectations regarding the level of service other than ensuring a safe journey. The crew on the plane are currently carrying out the drink service, and the women in the row ahead of me are placing their orders.

Passenger: “She’ll have an Aperol Spritz, I’ll take an espresso martini, and my friend is using the bathroom, but she’ll have a regular martini with an extra dirty twist.”

Air Steward: “Dear, this is [Budget Airline]. We have red wine, white wine, sparkling wine, and spirits available.”

Passenger: “Oh… Do you have a glass of malbec?”

Air Steward: “We have merlot, and they come in little bottles with a screw cap.”

The ladies had to make do with the cheap merlot and seemed equally disappointed that this two-and-a-half-hour flight didn’t offer afternoon tea.
