We must give a nod to Blue Origin for managing to secure such amazing celebrity space travelers to keep hyping up their civilian space flights. We’re just scratching our heads trying to figure out how they could possibly top this one: Captain Kirk Goes To Space.
Captain Kirk, of course, is the renowned actor William Shatner, who portrayed the captain of the Starship Enterprise in the original Star Trek series and numerous subsequent spinoffs. We’re guessing that Shatner said yes to the opportunity in a heartbeat, at least in part because he has been fascinated by space ever since he took on that role.
The short flight was rather uneventful, save for the passengers’ reactions. And those are always something special.
Shatner’s reaction was truly spectacular. He gazed out at that vast blue orb below, then turned to the camera with wide eyes and uttered a single word, “Wow.” Blue Origin’s video is available right here. And congratulations on the successful voyage, Captain!
